We can't read your data — and we can prove it

Most "secure" note apps encrypt your data, but they hold the keys. They can read your notes. They can be compelled to hand them over. They can be breached.

TheSecureNote is different.

Your users' passwords never leave their device. Encryption happens in their browser. We store only encrypted blobs we cannot decrypt.

This isn't a policy. It's math.

Client-side encryption

AES-256-GCM encryption happens entirely in the browser

Password never transmitted

We never see, store, or transmit user passwords

No recovery possible

If a user forgets their password, their data is gone forever. That's the point.

Two ways to manage access

Invite Only

You create usernames. Users set their own passwords.

Best for: Client portals, professional services, sensitive information

Open Access

Let anyone create their own notebook at your domain.

Best for: Internal teams, communities, low-friction use cases

Either way, notes are encrypted with the user's password. You can see who's using the system — but never what they write.

Simple setup. Powerful privacy.

STEP 1

Connect your domain

Point a subdomain like notes.yourcompany.com to us. We handle SSL automatically.

STEP 2

Create spaces for your team

Add usernames from your dashboard. Share private links with each person to set their password.

STEP 3

You see usage, not content

Your dashboard shows who's using the system. But the notes? Encrypted with their password. Even you can't read them.

Common questions

No. That's the whole point. Notes are encrypted with each user's password, which we never see. You can see who created a notebook and when they last accessed it, but never the content.

Their data cannot be recovered — by them, by you, or by us. This is a feature, not a bug. We recommend users understand this when they create their password.

Yes. Choose between Invite Only (you create usernames, share links) or Open (anyone can create). Most businesses prefer invite-only.

You create a username in your dashboard. We generate a link. You send it to your client. They set their password. Done.

Yes. Point a subdomain to us via DNS. We provide instructions and verify automatically.

You can cancel anytime. Data remains until end of billing period.

You can export usernames and metadata. Note content can only be exported by each user themselves.
