By accessing or using TheSecureNote, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.

2. Description of Service

TheSecureNote provides an encrypted, privacy-focused notepad service. We offer three tiers:

  • Free Tier: Access via thesecurenote.com/username
  • Subdomain Tier ($9.99): Access via yourname.thesecurenote.com
  • Custom Domain Tier ($99): Access via your own domain

3. Zero-Knowledge Architecture

TheSecureNote uses client-side encryption with a zero-knowledge architecture. This means:

  • Your password never leaves your browser
  • We cannot access, read, or recover your encrypted notes
  • You are solely responsible for remembering your password
  • Lost passwords cannot be recovered - your notes will be permanently inaccessible

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • All activities that occur under your username or domain
  • Ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws
  • Not using the service for illegal activities or storing illegal content

5. Paid Services

Payment

Subdomain and Custom Domain tiers require a one-time payment. All payments are processed securely through our payment provider.

Refunds

Due to the instant digital nature of our service, refunds are generally not available. If you experience technical issues preventing use of your paid tier, contact support for assistance.

Service Availability

Paid tiers are activated immediately upon successful payment and remain active indefinitely unless terminated for violation of these terms.

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not use TheSecureNote to:

  • Store or distribute malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Attempt to breach security or authentication measures
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the service

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of TheSecureNote is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect minimal data and use encryption to protect your notes.

8. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time. In the event of service discontinuation, we will provide at least 90 days notice and offer an export feature for your encrypted data.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

TheSecureNote is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Data will never be lost or corrupted
  • The service will meet your specific requirements

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheSecureNote shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
