Refund Policy

Overview

This Refund Policy applies to paid services offered by TheSecureNote, including Subdomain Tier ($9.99) and Custom Domain Tier ($99).

General Refund Policy

Due to the instant digital nature of our service, refunds are generally not available. When you complete a purchase:

  • Your subdomain or custom domain is activated immediately
  • You gain instant access to your paid tier features
  • The service is delivered in full at the moment of purchase

Exceptions

We may issue refunds in the following situations:

1. Technical Issues

If you experience technical problems that prevent you from using the paid tier and we are unable to resolve the issues, we may issue a refund at our discretion.

2. Duplicate Charges

If you are accidentally charged multiple times for the same service, we will refund the duplicate charges.

3. Service Not Activated

If you made a payment but your paid tier was not activated due to a system error, we will either activate your tier immediately or issue a full refund.

4. Unauthorized Charges

If you believe a charge was made without your authorization, contact us immediately with details.

Requesting a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us at support@thesecurenote.com within 7 days of your purchase with:

  • Your transaction ID or payment confirmation
  • The email address used for payment
  • Your subdomain or domain name
  • A detailed explanation of why you're requesting a refund

Refund Timeline

If your refund request is approved:

  • We will process the refund within 5-7 business days
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method
  • It may take an additional 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your financial institution
  • Your paid tier access will be deactivated upon refund

What's Not Refundable

Refunds will not be issued for:

  • Change of mind after service activation
  • Not using the service after purchase
  • Forgetting your password (due to our zero-knowledge architecture, passwords cannot be recovered)
  • Purchases made more than 7 days ago (unless there are exceptional circumstances)
  • Domain registration fees (if applicable for custom domains)

Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback with your payment provider:

  • Your paid tier access will be immediately suspended
  • We may contest the chargeback if we believe the service was delivered as promised
  • Please contact us directly before initiating a chargeback so we can try to resolve the issue

Service Modifications

If we make significant changes to the service that materially reduce its value or functionality, existing paid tier users will be offered:

  • A pro-rated refund for the remaining value, or
  • Equivalent alternative features, or
  • 90 days notice before service discontinuation with the option for a full refund

Free Tier

The free tier of TheSecureNote is provided at no cost and does not involve any refund considerations.
